Bill O’Reilly and ABC News’ Brian Ross discuss the Solyndra scandal. Not sure how this will shake out, but it isn’t looking good for the White House at the moment.
Just Keep Fiddlin’, Nero: Obama: “I Don’t Think We Are In Danger Of Another Recession”
I’d be willing to bet most people on the street think we’re already in another recession, so in that sense, I guess you could argue the danger has passed. Otherwise, I suspect the President needs some new advisers.
Ron Paul Not Running For Congress In 2012
Seems the good doctor is focusing all his energy on his Presidential campaign. Story is here.
Seems like a smart move on paper, as he has a better chance if he’s not spreading his resources over two campaigns, but I don’t think he has much of a chance to receive the Republican nomination, meaning one of the sane voices talking about how to fix the economy could be out of a job next year. Of course, we’re probably better off without his foreign policy ideas…
Reason TV: The Top Five Environmental Disasters that Didn’t Happen
What does this prove? Ultimately, nobody knows the future. There are plenty of unforeseen variable changes that made these predictions incorrect. It also doesn’t help that politicizing environmental issues led to a big bunch of fear mongering for political gain.

Reason.tv: Obama Gets Mythbusted!
Man, I love these guys! Fun little video, with an accompanying piece piece explaining their claims. That second video is after the jump:

Jim Wallis: “There Wouldn’t Be A Tea Party If There Wasn’t A Black Man In The White House”
Don’t get me wrong, there are racists at Tea Party rallies that want Obama out simply because he’s black. There will always be people out there that hate others for stupid reasons. However, as a whole, the Tea Party movement came about because people didn’t like the way this country was going (in other words, opposition to big government), and that’s the driving force behind the group to this day.
Jim Wallis is crying racism because it’s a conversation ender. He’s trying to shut up his opponents.
Homeland Security Seizes Domain Names
It doesn’t surprise me that the government is seizing websites that violate copyrights, but I do have a question: Why does this fall under the jurisdiction of Homeland Security?
Andrew Napolitano: Truther?
Looks like he could be:
Rasmussen: Many Say Government Now Operating Outside the Constitution
The specifics are here.
44% of likely voters feel the government is operating outside of the Constitution. Not a majority, but it is the biggest group of those polled (see the article for specifics).
Not sure what this leads to, but I’d guess that number will continue to grow. The recent election was a good sign, but there’s still a long way to go to get our government & economy under control.
Ron Paul Introduces ‘American Traveler Dignity Act’
Republicans Fail To Cut NPR Funding
Lamborn presents a really good case. However, the measure failed. Two problems here:
This can, and should, pass, but it won’t until sometime next year. Even then, I’d expect the Senate and the President to stop it. Government shouldn’t fund the media, but it’s an uphill battle to fix that
Sarah Palin: I Could Beat Obama
That being said, I’m not sure Palin has a chance in 2012. Her base followers love her, but those that hate her REALLY hate her. I think the Republican candidate with the best chance of winning is someone not on the national scene right now. They’re probably big in state politics somewhere, but I suspect they’ll show up out of the blue and really rev people up…sort of like Obama did in 2008.
Jim DeMint: ‘You Can’t Be A Fiscal Conservative and Not Be A Social Conservative’
Two words: Penn Jillette
In all seriousness, I really do like DeMint, but I have to disagree on this point. The fact that most social liberals vote Democrat seems to blur the lines on what they believe. However, if I’m not mistaken, one of the over-simplified definitions of a libertarian is someone who wants the government out of their wallet and out of their bedroom.
You can’t legislate morality, and I firmly believe education on social issues does far more to strengthen the family and whatnot than any laws could ever hope to do.

Mysterious Missile Launches Over Southern California
As of right now, the Pentagon is claiming to have no knowledge of the launch. Awesome. Could be nothing, but it is the type of thing that freaks people out.
Rasmussen: GOP Primary Voters Express Interest in Third-Party Option
Seems a good chunk of Republican voters don’t like the current front-runners for the GOP’s 2012 Presidential Candidacy. Either someone else needs to step up (Chris Christie?), or it looks like another four years of Obama. Interesting times ahead…
Interesting Banned Ad: Chinese Professor
According to Sean Paige, this ad by Citizens Against Government Waste is being rejected by major media outlets. Check it out and let me know what you think. Are they overreacting, or has CAGW taken their campaign a step too far?
Nanny State Alert: San Fran Bans Happy Meal Toys (Yeah, I’m A Little Late)
Specifics can be found here. If you prefer video, this law made San Francisco Supervisor Eric Mar Reason TV’s “Nanny Of The Month:”
As for me, I’m a little concerned. The “state” is slowly taking over parenting of our children. This little act may seem harmless, though my little sister really digs the toys, but I wonder where this ends. I firmly believe freedom includes the right to self destruct, which includes smoking, drinking heavily, and eating poorly. Probably not the best choices you can make, but you have the choice! What else will the government do for our own good?Nancy Pelosi Wants To Be House Minority Leader
“Based on those discussions, and driven by the urgency of protecting health care reform, Wall Street reform, and Social Security and Medicare, I have decided to run,” Ms. Pelosi wrote in her letter.
Admittedly, I don’t entirely know how these things work, but I have have to think her chances aren’t good based on the way elections turned out. Even if it isn’t entirely her fault, I would expect her to be held at least partially responsible for her party losing the majority.
